Saskatchewan and the Visual Arts

Born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, in 1935, Rogers studied under Wynona Mulcaster at the Saskatchewan Teacher's College from 1952 to 1953. He obtained a Bachelor's in Art Education at the University of Wisconsin (1958), and a Master of Arts with a major in painting and a minor in sculpting (1959). During his time in Wisconsin he had several shows and received numerous awards.

Rogers began teaching with the University of Saskatchewan in 1959, becoming a full professor in 1975. From 1973 to 1978 he acted as Head of the Department of Art in Saskatoon. His works are found in many public and corporate collections and have appeared in both national and international exhibits, including the Mira Godard Gallery in Toronto, Espace 5 in Montreal, the Canadian Cultural Centre, Paris, and the Galleria Del Millione, Milan.
